NetOp Dial version 1.01
-----------------------

==========================================================================

To run the NetOp Dial guest program in an OS/2 2.x DOS box, make the
following changes to the DOS box' settings:

 COM_HOLD           On
 COM_SELECT         Specified COMx
 HW_ROM_TO_RAM      On
 HW_TIMER           On
 IDLE_SECONDS       60
 IDLE_SENSITIVITY  100

You can provide higher priority to NetOp Dial by editing the following
in the CONFIG.SYS:

 PRIORITY_DISK_IO=NO
 MAXWAIT=1 (Only for OS/2 1.3 and 2.x)

==========================================================================

To run with OS/2 version 1.3 you need to load OS/2's serial port
device driver (COM0x.SYS) which is supplied with OS/2. Use COM01.SYS for
PCs with ISA bus, use COM02.SYS for PCs with MCA bus.

You must set your baud rate to 19200 or lower, when runnning OS/2
1.3 with the standard serial port driver (COM0x.SYS).

==========================================================================

To run the NetOp Dial guest program in a Windows 3.x DOS box, create
a PIF file with the following settings:

 EXCLUSIVE        : ON
 DETECT IDLE TIME : OFF

==========================================================================

To remote control Windows add the following lines to your SYSTEM.INI
file, in the 386enh section:

  COM1Irq=Off
  COM1Base=Off

If you are using a COM port other than 1, substitute the appropriate
number.

Please note, that you cannot remote control the mouse when the host
runs Windows

==========================================================================

If you have problems accessing your Novell server from an OS/2 PC with
an SMC ethernet card, try loading the NDHOST2.SYS device driver *before*
the link support layer device driver (lsl.sys) in your config.sys.

==========================================================================

Most SVGA adapters based on one of the following chipsets are
supported in 800x600x16 mode:

 ATI, EVEREX, NCR 77C22E, TRIDENT, VIDEO7, GENOA, PARADISE/WESTERN DIGITAL,
 CHIPS & TECHNOLOGY, TSENG ET3000, TSENG ET4000, Ahead A, Ahead B, Oak,
 Cirrus, S3.

Under OS/2 up to standard VGA mode is supported.

==========================================================================

When defining custom COM ports the 'Interrupt' field is NOT equal
to IRQ, rather Interrupt = IRQ + 8.

Thus if you want to define a custom COM port which uses e.g. IRQ5 you
should enter D in the interrupt field (8+5 in HEX notation).

==========================================================================

The Norton Utilities use font re-definition technology, this will
not work with NetOp Dial. To disable NU's font re-definition enter
the parameter /g0 when starting any of the Norton Utility programs.

==========================================================================

NetOp Dial Host/2 needs the modem to have local echo enabled (this is
default on most modems). If this is not enabled NetOp will generate
a "No response from modem" message. To explicitely enable local echo
add E1 to the modem setup string.

VERSION 1.01 NEW FEATURES

START OF MORE THAN ONE HOST

The Host program has been enhanced so that you can run two or more
simultaneously. The Host program must be configured as usual by starting
it without any command line parameters. The configuration settings are
patched into the program. To be able to start more hosts with different
configurations they have to be placed in their own directories or have
different names. E.g. you could call them ndcable.com and ndmodem.com.
Each host program to be running simultaneously with another host program
must have a unique interrupt ID. This is given as a command line parameter
using /I#### where #### is the interrupt ID in hexadecimal. To start a host
running modem and a host running null modem you could write:

	NDMODEM /L
	NDCABLE /L /IBADD

The first host will use default interrupt ID (BADEh) and the second BADDh.
Removal of a Host from memory must be performed backwards, e.g.:

	NDMODEM /R /IBADD
	NDMODEM /R

In case you wish to tranfer files you must start the program NDTRANS. If
you have more than one Host running you need to specify with which Host
NDTRANS has to communicate. Write:

	NDTRANS /I:####

where #### is the interrupt ID in hexadecimal. If the parameter is left out
the default interrupt ID is used.

===========================================================================

REMOTE CONTROL FROM COMMAND LINE

You can now start remote control directly from the Guest command line using
the following command:

	NDGUEST /R:##########

where ######## is the telephone number. The Guest will use the hardware
profile with the name 'Default Config'. If 'Default Config' uses a null
modem ######## must be left out and only /R: must be typed.

===========================================================================

END OF REMOTE CONTROL AND EXIT TO DOS

In the menu for configuration of Hotkeys you can configure the Guest program
to end remote control and exit to DOS. The exit to DOS must be performed
from the remote controlling window. Exit to DOS on the local desktop is
performed using Alt X.
