Driver/Example Program Information for the 5540 Multifunction Card

Digital I/O Port: J2

Use the file 5600DEMO.EXE located on the 5600 directory. After starting the
program, select base address of the 5540 card (default is 100 Hex) and then
select J1 as the Port number. Source code has been provided for the
5600DEMO.EXE program which will allow you to make changes and use it in your
own program. The circuit and method for using the J2 port on the 5540 and
the J1 port 5600 are the same. Using the TBD-100 Terminal/Status board
connected to the J2 port will make development and testing much easier. The
TBD-100 has numbered terminals and LED's which correspond to the J2 port on
the 5540 card. To order a TBD-100 call Octagon Sales at (303) 430-1500, ask
for TBD-100 (#1183), and the connecting cable CMA-26-12 (#2776).

Printer, LCD, and Keypad Ports: J4, J5, and J3

Drivers, TSR's, and source code listings for using keypads and displays are
located on the Utility Software disk which came with your MicroPC CPU card.
These files are located in the Display directory. Read the DOC files to find
out how to use each program.
Keep in mind that the LCD and Keypad Ports use the same lines as the printer
port J4. You cannot use the printer port and the LCD or Keypad port at the
same time.
To use the printer port with a standard parallel printer, use the VTC-5
cable, order #1237.
If you would like to use the printer port as a digital I/O port, again refer
to the files located in the Display directory of the Utility Software disk.
These files show how to use the printer port to drive both the keypad and
a display. By modifying the source code, these programs could be used to
control the printer port as a general purpose I/O Port.
