| The Outlive Game | |||
Outlive is a real-time strategy game that implements a series of innovative features, making it a unique game in its style: |
| Two Totally
Different Races: In Outlive, it is possible to play with the Humans and the
Robots. Each of the races has its own management and playability characteristics,
requiring players to develop a different strategy for each race. |
| Sixteen Players:
Outlive allows games with up to 16 players (8 teams) in multiplayer mode (serial, modem,
local network and Internet). |
Single and Multiplayer Campaigns: Besides the 2 campaigns for Single Player (Humans and Robots), Outlive has a Cooperative campaign totally integrated with the game story that may be played by up to 4 people (2 teams) in cooperative mode. | ||
Campaign Editor: Tool totally integrated to the game that allows the player to create maps and campaigns for Outlive. |
| Three Graphic Modes:
Outlive may be played in 640x480, 800x600 or in 1024x768, all in HiColor (65536 colors). |
Minimizing
Interface: The game interface may be minimized, increasing your view of the
battlefield. |
Smart
Units: The units have individual intelligence which allows them to use their
special abilities automatically or help other units that are in danger. This individuality
may be configured by the player. |
Advanced Artificial Intelligence: Besides the individual intelligence of the units, the computer uses an advanced AI, providing a true challenge to the player. Players may choose among three different difficulty levels to confront the computer. |
| Technology Research:
Each race has a totally different technology tree, allowing the development of units and
customization of the players army according to the battle situation. |
Intelligence: Besides the conventional way of play, it is possible to use intelligence missions to obtain information about other players, sabotage enemy buildings, steal technology research, or even monitor the troops of another army. |
| Market: It is possible to buy and sell units through the Market. | |||
| Energy Management:
The player must manage different types of energy (nuclear, wind and solar) so that
buildings work at full capacity. |
Interactive Environment: Outlive has several environmental characteristics that influence playability such as fire, wind and radiation. The wind may cause fire to spread through a forest or make Wind Power Plants supply more or less energy. A Mine of radioactive ore may damage nearby units due to the radiation it emanates. |
| Pause: The
pause feature is a resource that may be used during the game, allowing better organization
of duties when many things are happening simultaneously in a battle. Even with the game
paused, it is possible to give orders to your units. |
| Orders Queue:
Allows you to assign multiple orders to units to be carried out in the order given without
continuous supervision from the player. |
Paths: Players may create up to 12 different paths, and each one can be normal, patrol, or circular. Paths may be used as escape, patrol, guerrilla or attack routes, or just simply for troop movement. |
Credits Transfer: It is possible to transfer credits among players in Diplomacy mode. |
