BOBCAT- readme.txt

This package has been prepared from point of view of those who are already
using doslynx.

You should have unzipped this package with the
command pkunzip -d to create the correct directories.

This is the directory where you should install your dialer
(ppp, slip or cslip).
If you have not preinstalled a PPP dialer, information on using
Klos PPP dialer is included in the file
http://www.fdisk.com/doslynx/DLYNXPPP.ZIP. This will not be reissued
for BOBCAT at this time. A new dialbobc.bat batch file is included
here for guidance on how to replace the diallynx.bat.

It is suggested you first read the BOBCAT help file by running "lynx"
without dialing and going to "Read This First". (bobc_hlp.htm).

"Q" or "q" will exit BOBCAT.
"ALT-X" has been added as an additional exit to match other DOS programs

The setup information for BOBCAT is in the bobc_hlp.htm file.
Changes are made in lynx.cfg which contains additional information..

Look in the /bobcat/doc directory for more information .

The setup information for the online part of the package is contained
in the file - bobcppp.doc. Work your way through the details for
net.cfg and wattcp.cfg, etc. Use this as applicable for your dialer.

Additional information on the inner workings of Klos ppp
can be found in the file bobcklos.doc, if you are using PPP.

A summary sheet for the BOBCAT hot key commands is in the file
keys.doc. Before going on line for the first time it may be helpful to
print keys.doc and have it handy.

Successful use of this program for telnet and ftp presently
requires the use of helper programs. There is information on
the setup for helper programs in the file external.htm. It
is suggested that Minuet be one of the main helper programs
where BOBCAT fully replaces the limited web browser in Minuet.
and Minuet is used for the functions it does well.
Information where to get Minuet is included in the /minuet directory.
Persons with Minuet 19a will have to use version 18a or older to use the
supplied method. This does not mean that you must use Minuet.
The external interface has been set up so any program that has an ethernet
interface will work provided it is set up properly.

And: now that you can run LYNX on your home PC , when you run into
a UNIX site on the net giving LYNX access the commands will be familiar.
