Beta Release Candidate 3 - Build 314 - 09/29/99

This beta contains the following changes in addition to bug fixes 
                          
   * Fix to avoid hangs and crashes on SMP machines running multiple
     virtual machines.
   * Fixes for installation and upgrade of VMware.
   * New experimental RPM installation package available.
   * This beta version of VMware for Linux (both compressed tar and
     RPM packages) will install the product in /usr/bin by default. 
     Previous packages were installed in /usr/local/bin by default. 

Beta Release Candidate 2 - Build 305 - 09/17/99  

This beta contains the following changes in addition to bug fixes 

   * A new version of the installer (vmware-install.pl) which does more 
     robust error checking and allows the user to modify the default 
     installation path. 
   * Support for running VMware with a variety of Linux kernels without 
     having to re-install VMware if the kernel is re-compiled or the 
     kernel version changes. 
   * Improved uninstaller (vmware-uninstall.pl).  

Release Candidate 1 - Build 299 - 09/10/99

This beta refresh contains the following changes in addition to bug fixes

   * Installation fixes for upgrading different versions of Linux.
   * Improved built-in help.

This beta refresh contains the following changes in addition to bug fixes

   * Fixes for symptoms including system crashes, CD-ROM hangs, and CD-ROMs
     needing to be disabled.
   * Installation fixes when upgrading SuSE Linux.
