You can change which disk a VM uses as its primary hard drive, if you configured that hard drive to use a virtual disk. For example, you might wish to move a large virtual disk file to a more optimal location on the host operating system.

You can disassociate a disk from a given VM, when that VM is powered off, by using the VM configuration editor.
