Using the Virtual Machine Menu and Toolbar

When you launch the VMware application, a window opens for the VM. The menu and toolbar at the top of the window provide all the options you require for starting, defining, managing, and powering off a VM.

You use the menu options to start (power on) and stop (power off) virtual machines, as well as to open, modify, save, and switch between VM configuration files. You can also reset a VM, display it in full-screen, get online help, and exit the VMware application.

The toolbar offers a quicker way to use a subset of the menu options.

The menu and toolbar are only visible in window mode; they do not appear when a VM is used in full-screen mode. When you need to use a menu option (for example, you wish to power off), you must first change a full-screen VM to display as a window.
