Deleting a Virtual Machine

Since a virtual machine essentially consists of a few files, you can easily "delete" a virtual machine by deleting those files. If you want to delete a VM, you can use the host operating system utilities to delete the following files:

However, since only the virtual disk files require much disk space, you may wish to simply delete those and retain the configuration files for possible reuse. If you should start one of them by mistake, you will simply get an error reminding you that the virtual disk file does not exist.
