Enabling Sound

If the underlying physical machine is configured for sound, you can enable sound support for a VM.

Current sound support includes output only and is for PCM sound only. The sound device emulated is a Creative Labs Sound Blaster 16. Sound quality cannot be guaranteed due to individual circumstances; for example a high CPU load on the host machine may degrade sound quality.

To enable sound support:
  1. From the VM configuration editor list click the word Sound.Make desired changes.
  2. Click OK.

VMware for Linux can emulate sound if the Linux host has any Linux-supported synthesizer. For additional information about sound support on your host OS, please refer to the appropriate documentation.
