                    GUIDE TO MANUALS AND TEXT FILES



Invisible LAN includes five instruction manuals:

1.  Getting Started -- Instructions for getting the Invisible LAN
software up and running as quickly as possible for DOS and Windows 3.X.

2.  Installation Manual -- Complete installation instructions for DOS
and Windows 3.X.  Part 1 describes how to run the Setup program and
perform a basic installation.  Part 2 describes advanced installation
options for the network software.  Part 3 describes how to install the
Invisible RAM memory managers.

3.  DOS User Manual -- Tells you how to operate the network from DOS.
Part 1 describes the command line utilities, network programs you can
run at the DOS command line.  Part 2 describes electronic mail.  Part 3
describes the DOS Network Manager, a menu-driven program for managing
the network.

4.  Windows User Manual -- Tells you how to operate the network from
Windows 3.X.  Part 1 describes the Windows Network Manager, a graphical
point-and-click program for managing the network.  Part 2 describes how
to operate Windows on the network.

5.  Windows 95 User's Guide -- Tells you how to install and operate the
network under Windows 95.  The manual covers installation and setup,
browsing the network, device mappings, print queues, property pages,
sharing printers, and security.



If you have Invisible LAN Remote, then the following additional manual
is included:

6.  Invisible LAN Remote Instruction Manual -- Tells you how to install
and operate Invisible LAN Remote.  It begins with instructions on how to
get started quickly, and then goes on to discuss modem configuration,
login, and security.



The README disk directory contains text files with additional
documentation on Invisible LAN for DOS and Windows 3.X.  The following
files are included:

COMPAT.TXT      Programs and procedures for resolving compatibility
                problems.

ERRORS1.TXT     Error messages for DOS command-line utilities.

ERRORS2.TXT     Error messages for network start-up.

ERRORS4.TXT     Error messages for the Windows network driver.

FLOPPY.TXT      Describes how to install the Invisible LAN software on
                a floppy-based computer.

GLOSSARY.TXT    Defines terms used in computers and networking.

GUIDE.TXT       Guide to manuals and text files.

HARDWARE.TXT    Lists the network hardware supported by Invisible LAN.

NETDIAG.TXT     Documents the network hardware diagnostic program, used
                to track down and isolate hardware problems.

NETINI.TXT      Documents the Invisible LAN network initialization file
                syntax.

OS2_21.TXT      Using Invisible LAN in an OS/2 2.1 DOS Session.

README.TXT      Changes and new features added since the last printing
                of the Invisible LAN instruction manuals.

TBPD.TXT        Describes how to install TBPD, the TransBIOS Packet
                Driver, which lets you run TCP/IP application on the
                Invisible LAN.

TROUBLE.TXT     Troubleshooting guide that describes how to solve a
                number of commonly encountered network problems.

WORKGRP.TXT     Describes how to use Windows For Workgroups with
                Invisible LAN.



Invisible LAN diskette #1 contains text files with additional
documentation on using Invisible LAN for Windows 95.  The following
files are included:

95CLIENT.TXT    Documents the Invisible LAN client for Windows 95.
                Includes network browsing, drive mappings, printer
                mappings, UNC paths, and network printing.

95NDIAG.TXT     Documents the network hardware diagnostic program, used
                to track down and isolate hardware problems.

95SERVER.TXT    Documents the Invisible LAN server for Windows 95.
                Includes sharing printers and server security.

95SETUP.TXT     Installation and configuration of the Invisible LAN
                drivers for Windows 95.



If you have Invisible LAN Remote, the README disk directory also
contains these text files:

MDF.TXT         Describes how to write a Modem Descriptor File, which
                adapts Invisible LAN Remote to operate on different
                types of modems.

MODEMS.TXT      Lists the modems and null-modem cables supported by
                Invisible LAN Remote.

RDIAG.TXT       Documents the serial protocol diagnostic program, used
                to analyze the operation of the serial protocol.

RREADME.TXT     Changes and new features added since the last printing
                of the Invisible LAN Remote Instruction Manual.  This
                includes how to use the remote bridge function.



If you have Invisible RAM memory management software, the README disk
directory also contains these text files:

ERRORS3.TXT     Error messages for the Invisible RAM memory managers.

INVRAM.TXT      Describes how to install the Invisible RAM memory
                managers in the CONFIG.SYS file.

