This collection of revised plug-ins for Adobe Photoshop 5.0.2 provides
enhanced performance on systems based on the Intel(R) Pentium III
processor.

This download includes three separate plug-ins:

-	MMXCore.8bx contains new application optimizations enhancements
for Pentium III systems, as well as all existing optimizations for other
Pentium-class systems.
- LightingEffects.8bf includes all of the functionality of the
existing Lighting Effects plug-in, with additional optimizations for
Pentium III systems.
-	Wind.8bf includes all of the functionality of the existing Wind
plug-in, with additional enhancements for Pentium III systems.

These plug-ins are replacements for the existing plug-ins of the same
names installed with Photoshop 5.0.2. To fully optimize Photoshop 5.0.2
for the Pentium III processor, simply replace the existing plug-ins with
these new versions. Installing these plug-ins on a non-Pentium III system
will have no adverse effect; on older systems, Photoshop 5.0.2 software
with the new plug-ins will continue to perform as it did with the original
plug-ins.

HANDLING NOTES
After downloading a ".exe" file in Windows, double-click on the ".exe"
file to access the file's contents.

INSTALLATION NOTES
To install Photoshop 5.0.2 Pentium III Plug-ins:
1. Remove the MMXCore.8bx plug-in from the Adobe\Photoshop
5.0\Plug-Ins\Extensions folder to the desktop.
2. Remove the LightingEffects.8bf and Wind.8bf plug-ins from the
Adobe\Photoshop 5.0\Plug-Ins\Filters folder to the desktop.

NOTE: It is important that all three of these old plug-ins be moved
outside of the Plug-Ins folder.

3. Copy the new MMXCore.8bx plug-in to the Adobe\Photoshop
5.0\Plug-Ins\Extensions folder.
4. Copy the new LightingEffects.8bf and Wind.8bf plug-ins to the
Adobe\Photoshop 5.0\Plug-Ins\Filters folder.
5. Restart Photoshop.

To determine which versions of the plug-ins you have installed, right-
click on each of the plug-in files in Windows Explorer and choose
Properties from the pop-up menu. Then, click on the Version tab in the
Properties dialog box. The version of the Pentium III-optimized plug-ins
is 5.0.4; the version of the earlier plug-ins is 5.0.2.

ADDITIONAL NOTES
The MMXcore.8bx plug-in is not language-specific, and can be installed to
any non-English version of Photoshop without affecting the user interface.
Currently, there are only English versions of the optimized Lighting
Effects.8bf and Wind.8bf plug-ins; installing these plug-ins for use with
a non-English version of Photoshop will cause the text in the Lighting
Effects and Wind dialog boxes to be displayed in English.
