ISSUE

SYMPTOM: UNABLE TO BOOT FROM A FLOPPY WITH SECURITY AND/OR SUPERSTOR
ENABLED

ISSUE/PROBLEM: A customized bootable floppy diskette is required to boot a
system with Security and/or SuperStor enabled.

SOLUTION: Follow the procedures outlined below to create a bootable
floppy diskette. The bootable disk created by this procedure will allow
access to a hard disk that has been compressed with SuperStor and/or has hard
disk Security enabled.

1. When booted from your hard disk, insert a blank floppy
     diskette into drive A:. Then type the following: FORMAT A: /S

     The floppy will be formatted and the operating systems files
     transferred.

2. Copy the following files from the hard disk to the floppy
     diskette:

     SSTORDRV.SYS   DEVSWAP.COM
     These 2 files are in the root directory.

     LOGIN.EXE   LOGIN.TXT   LOGIN.ERR
     These 3 files are in the DRDOS directory.

3. Create a CONFIG.SYS file on the floppy diskette. To use the
     DR DOS Editor type in: EDITOR A:CONFIG.SYS

     When asked if you want to create a new file, answer Y.
     Then type the following lines:

     INSTALL=LOGIN.EXE
     DEVICE=SSTORDRV.SYS
     DEVICE=DEVSWAP.COM
     Save the file by pressing CTRL KX.

NOTE: When prompted for a password, you must enter the MASTER password.
