Welcome to the Datalight ROM-DOS 7.1 Demonstration.

With the Internet-ready 7.1 release, Datalight has taken DOS to a new
level. Our 7.1 kernel provides you complete access to FAT32 drives and has
Long File Name capabilities, so you can manage standard desktop files
from inexpensive large hard drives or flash drives. True to ROM-DOS
form, Datalight continues to offer you a quick BUILD utility within our
Software Development Kit, saving you install time. By providing a mechanism
for quick and easy customization of the ROM-DOS kernel, developers
get greater flexibility and the ability to get only the capabilities they need
without undue overhead.

Internet services have not been included within this demonstration. Internet
enabling has been accomplished by including the Datalight TCP/IP stack, SOCKETS,
into the full ROM-DOS product. You may obtain an evaluation copy of SOCKETS
from the Datalight website listed below or contact us directly.

This demonstration version of ROM-DOS 7.1 is intended to boot from a
floppy disk (although you may "SYS" a hard drive as well) and allow you
to test any DOS application on the new 7.1 kernel. Use the boot disk on a
Windows 9X desktop system and view both FAT32 and LFN support.

Datalight remains dedicated to continued development of and fully supporting
our ROM-DOS product. We value your input. Please keep in touch with us to
see what is coming next. Thank you for test driving our latest version of
Datalight ROM-DOS 7.1!
